Outings

Outings to concerts and other events are organised once or twice a year, with pick-up points in Hoddesdon and Broxbourne.

Some examples of our previous coach outings are as follows:

July 2011 - Visit to Chelmsford Cathedral to hear Elgar's Dream of Gerontius
December 2011 - Visit to Westminster Abbey for Purcell Singers tour
December 2012 - Visit to Watford for a Christmas Concert performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra.
August 2013 - Visit to Finchcocks Musical Museum.
11 November 2017 - Visit to Saffron Hall, Saffron Walden for Britten's War Requiem.
Annual visits (since 2012) to the Royal Festival Hall
Sadly we had to cancel our outing planned for April 2020 to the Royal Festival Hall due to the Covid pandemic, but in 2023 we were able to organise our first post-Covid trip to the Royal Festival Hall to hear the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Our January 2025 visit to the Royal Festival Hall included Beethoven's 'Emperor' Piano Concerto and Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring

Outings tend to get booked up very quickly, and priority is given to members. Every effort is made to contact all current members when an outing is being organised. Letting the club have your email address can facilitate this. Sometimes spaces become available at the last minute, so let the organiser know if you are interested in an outing, even if it is booked up.
